Miracle at Windsor High

The Wethersfield Eagles high school football team had just come off their huge nail biting 21-20 win against The Windsor Warriors, a team that was favored to win and had a very strong record at 5-1. The 2019 graduates from the Eagles and the Warriors have had a rivalry that started in 8th grade and has been prolonged all the way to senior year.

The Eagles really needed this win as if they lose another game for the remainder of the season their playoff chances will be gone. I spoke with Running back and D Linemen Mitchell Quadrato after the game last Friday. I asked how he was feeling about coming off the huge win, “We came in not thinking we had a chance to win and we kicked their ass, we took over the jungle.” he said. I then asked how he feels to have a chance now at making the playoffs and he replied with “We Going to State baby.”

​I didn’t get along time to talk to him because it was right after the game and the entire team was very hyped up. This is the first time the Eagles have beat the Warriors since 2014 and it was a huge win for them to keep their playoff chances alive.
