Wethersfield Saving Ducks

Wethersfield gets visited by one female duck every year during the spring. In the courtyard, we noticed she had eleven little baby ducklings! The administration knew the babies and the mother wouldn't be able to survive with no food or water source in there. On May 9th Ms.Norris made a plan of getting them out; she took all her students that period and made a line outside to the fence facing the Silas Deane Highway. She closed the doors inside the school so the ducks wouldn't be able to go anywhere but out. I and a couple student were behind them so they kept going, and it worked exactly like the we wanted it to go. I interviewed a couple students about where they are going to go and how long this has been going on. Jenasis Ortiz says “They have been coming for about fifteen years now and ms.Norris has been letting them out every time. The ducks will most likely cross the Silas Deane to spring street pond in Old Wethersfield.” Witnessing this was absolutely amazing, watching the little ducklings jump the curb was so adorable. I’d do it again in a heartbeat, especially to help animals in need.
