By: Kendell Sullivan Mr. and Mrs. Gallivan are English teachers for Wethersfield High School. They’re two awesome individuals, who found each other at Saint Anselm College. They come to school in the morning together and their classrooms are next to one another. The “Clan” share a lot of things, inspire the students to have a relationship like them, on top of a being positive role model for the students. Mr. Gallivan became an English teacher because math and science were not his strongest subjects in school. He loves to talk and he wanted something he was “naturally good at”. Mr. Gallivan’s favorite books include the Kite Runner and Girl On The Train. He also enjoys reading any Boston Crime books. Mr. Gallivan went to Saint Anselm college because he wanted a smaller school. As well as wanting to go further from his hometown of Worcester, MA. Mr. Gallivan also wanted to go to a catholic school with a good reputation. Mrs. Gallivan became an English teacher because she always loved to read and write. She loves reading books, as well as creative writing. She was inspired by many of her English teachers when she attended Wethersfield High School as a student. Her favorite author at the moment is Chris Cleave, the author of Everyone Brave Is Forgiven. Mrs. Gallivan went to Saint Anselm college because she liked the programs they offered, the student body and then campus. “The practical reason why I chose Saint Anselm college, was because of the best financially liable option for me,” said Mrs. Gallivan. Mrs. Gallivan wanted to be a teacher since she was young. “Having great experiences from school. And being supported by my own teachers. And being in a great school system,” are all things she said contributed to her dream of being a teacher. The Gallivan’s have made a such an impact on Wethersfield High School. “Mr. Gallivan connects with the students and make you feel comfortable in class, and speaking out, while Mrs. Gallivan tries to help you connect to your paper and make you comfortable writing things” said student Sabrina Torres.
