On Thursday, April 27 the induction of the National Honor Society, English National Honor Society and National Social Studies Honor Society took place. With the WHS auditorium full of eager parents and siblings as well as current members, the induction began promptly at 6:30.
The induction began with Dina Dimarco singing the National Anthem followed by Principle Moore speaking about what it takes to be inducted. This group of inductees on Thursday night represent the top students in our school- it takes character, scholarship, leadership and service to be selected.
Heather Mayo is one of the few students that was inducted into each of the three honor societies on Thursday. She said, “It was a great honor to be inducted and I feel proud to be apart of such prestigious groups at the high school. It is an honor to be seen as a leader and to be able to set an example for other students.”
After the ceremony, the new members took photos for the yearbook next year. There were snacks and refreshments provided by the culinary class and the current honor society members in the cafeteria.
